Опис роботи: Дана робота являє собою конспект уроку англійської мови в 10 класі. Матеріал, який знайомить з одним з національних парків Америки - Йосеміті, буде корисний вчителям, які працюють за підручником К.І. Кауфман, М.Ю. Кауфман “Happy English. ru".
Урок 6, 7, 8. "What did Liza See in Yosemite National Park?"
Мета: в рамках кроскультурної підходу активізувати знання учнів для аналізу характеристик національного парку.
Завдання: 1) розвиток інтегративних комунікативних умінь спілкуватися англійською мовою; 2) розвиток загальнокультурних умінь збору, систематизації та інтерпретації культуроведческой інформації; 3) формування власної незалежної думки та вияву поваги до думки інших; 4) формування соціокультурної компетенції.
Тип уроку: комбінований.
Вид уроку: змішаний.
Методи: інформаційно-рецептивний, репродуктивний, дослідницький.
Форма навчальної роботи: класно-урочна.
Використовувані технології: інформаційно-комунікаційна, розвитку критичного мислення.
1. Виклик.
Привітання. Ознайомлення з темою і завданнями уроку.
Активізація знань учнів (прийоми роботи - мозкова атака, ключові терміни): викликати інтерес; сприяти тому, щоб учні почали згадувати інформацію, обсуждавшуюся на попередніх уроках в рамках теми "Yosemite National Park".
2. Смислова стадія: Хлопці вступають в контакт з новою інформацією у вигляді тексту (Ex.6 інформація про визначні пам'ятки парку). Відпрацьовується навичка пошукового читання. Робота в групах та парах по осмисленню прочитаного.
3. Стадія рефлексії: учні виступають у ролі доповідачів-презентаторов. Застосовують раніше вивчені поняття, засвоєні навички, представляючи набуті на уроках знання. На даному етапі діти мають можливість розглянути різні варіанти представлення інформації, демонструючи приклад культурного спору.
Організаційний момент.
T: Hello, everybody! Glad to see you at today's lesson. How are you today? I'm O K and hope you are too. But business is before pleasure.
1 етап уроку. Виклик
1. T: People say: "Getting to know endlessness takes a long time". The Great Nature doesn't stop to astonish us with its wonders. One of them is Yosemite National Park. It's a well-known American national park lying in the heart of California. Being established in 1890 as a forest reservation and designated as a World Heritage site in 1984 it remains an area of outstanding scenic beauty and great wilderness value for many tourists from all over the world. With its 'hanging' valleys, many waterfalls, cirque lakes, polished domes, moraines and U-shaped valleys, it provides an excellent overview of all kinds of granite relief fashioned by glaciation. The park represents practically all the different environments found within the Sierra Nevada, including sequoia groves, historic resources, evidence of Indian habitation, and domes, valleys, polished granites geological and other features illustrating the formation of the mountain range. So we are going to speak about it again and again. What do you know about this place from our previous lessons?

1. T: Well done. And now let's do Ex.6, page 161 for further information about the park. Read the story from Lisa's diary and match its parts with the titles. There is one extra title.
2. Good. Tick the photos of the things that Lisa saw in the park with the parts of the text (Ex.5, page 160).
3. Make groups and answer some questions:
1. What is the park famous for?
2. What are the dangers campers likely to face in the park?
3. What activities are the campers likely to enjoy there?
So, let's listen to your answers.
4. Your next task is to make dialogues in pairs. One of you is a guide of the park and another one is a tourist. Use following information:
Date of foundation: 1890
Total area: 304, 000 h
Flora: Sequoia, white bark pine, alpine meadows, ferns.
Fauna: American badger, bighorn sheep, white tailed ptarmigan.
Sights: Waterfalls, cliffs, glaciers, lakes.
Let's listen to some of your dialogues.
5. T: You know that there are some rules in national parks. What are you supposed/ not supposed to do in these cases when in Yosemite?
1. You get bitten by a tick.
2. A mountain lion behaves aggressively.
3. You hear thunder in a distance.
4. You see a rattlesnake.
5. A bear is trying to attack you.
Complete the sentences with the right part of speech of the words in capitals.
1. A lot of rules and regulations are made to ... wild animals (PROTECTION).
2. Very often animals' ... is provoked by humans (AGGRESSIVE).
3. Campers need to prepare for their ... before they begin it (HIKE).

1. T: And now let's sum up all the material of today's lesson. Which information was interesting for you? What are the main features of any national park? Have you ever been to such a place?

3. So, you've worked well today and your marks are...
4. Your home task will be either to make a presentation or write a story or a five-line poem about Yosemity National Park or describe any park in our country.
